Comedy With Chai: July 22 to 28, 2016

Looking for laughs in Vancouver this week? Check out these stand-up, improv and storytelling shows around the city.

1) Dom Pare at Yuks Yuks, 8 pm on July 22, 730 pm and 930 pm on July 23
Described as “one of the best new stand-ups around” by NOW Magazine, Dom Paré has been a finalist of both the Just For Laughs Homegrown Competition and the SiriusXM Canada’s Next Top Comic competition. Recently Dom reached the Semi-Finals of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition, and Runner Up for Toronto’s Best Male Stand Up. Tickets: $19.05 + tax

2) Teenage Dirtbag with Jacob Samuel at HOT ART Wet City, 8 pm on July 23
Hosted by stand-up comic and New Yorker cartoonist Jacob Samuel, comedians explore the follies of youth. This month’s lineup includes David MacLean, Sophie Buddle, Stefan MacNeil, Devon Alexandar, and more. Tickets: $7 in advance, $10 at the door

3) Those Guys at Havana Theatre, 9 pm on July 24
Those Guys are back at Havana Theatre for a night of improv, sketch and stand-up. Featuring Alistair Cook and Instant Theatre, sketch by Ese Atawo and Lauren McGibbon, stand-up by Jacob Samuel, and a signature duo set by Those Guys. Tickets: $8 or $10 if you watch both Streetfight at 7:30 pm and Those Guys at 9 pm

4) Kings Head Comedy at Kitchen Table, 9 pm on July 26
Kings Head Comedy presents their final show at Kitchen Table with a hot lineup of stand-ups. On the mic are Sunee Dhaliwal, Erica Sigurdson, Simon King, and many more. Tickets: $5 at the door

5) Story Story Lie at Cafe Deux Soleils, 8pm on July 27
Part storytelling, part gameshow, all fun. Four storytellers share a personal story, but one is lying. Can you figure out which one? Hosted by Jo Dworschak, stories by Dylan Rhymer, Sara Bynoe, Jesse Daniel, Megan Phillips and Alex Biron. Tickets: $5 at the door
